Gloria D. Cassell is the founder of Glo D Records and the creator, artist, and storyteller behind Class Is in Session™: Life Is the Curriculum. Through original music and development from lived stories, she traces how advice becomes experience, experience becomes understanding, and understanding becomes wisdom that can be passed forward. The four albums move through Winter Freshman, Spring Sophomore, Summer Junior, and Fall Senior as one progressive curriculum for a life.

Gloria D. Cassell is the founder of Glo D Records and the creator, artist, and storyteller behind Class Is in Session™: Life Is the Curriculum, a connected musical storytelling project with four albums. Her relationship with music stretches from early family influence and childhood songwriting to listening experiences at events. Gloria now tells stories from her life through original music, revisiting lessons many of us hear before we have enough life experience to understand why they matter.

Gloria D. Cassell is the founder of Glo D Records and the creator, artist, and storyteller behind Class Is in Session™: Life Is the Curriculum, a connected musical storytelling project with four albums built around lived experience and the lessons life eventually teaches us.
Her relationship with music began long before the label. Gloria grew up in a family where music was present early; her father operated a DJ company, and as a child she remembers writing songs of her own around age ten. She later spent time learning the flute.
Music reappeared in her entrepreneurial life through The Glo Experience. By 2018, Gloria was incorporating wireless silent headphone music experiences into events and vendor demonstrations, curating and sequencing music while her daughter also DJed numerous experiences using the company’s equipment. Years before audiences would hear Gloria’s own stories through headphones, she was already using headphones to create experiences around music.
Today, that relationship with music has taken a new form. Gloria develops original musical storytelling through Glo D Records, relying first on her ear, memory, lived experience, research, and creative direction. Class Is in Session™: Life Is the Curriculum moves through Winter Freshman, Spring Sophomore, Summer Junior, and Fall Senior as advice travels through choices, lived experience, understanding, and wisdom that can eventually be passed forward.
Gloria’s posture is not that she has always had the answers. Somebody tried to tell her, too. Now she tells the stories she understands through music.
PROJECT STATEMENT
Somebody tried to tell us. Before life became our teacher, people who had lived longer often offered advice we were not yet ready to understand. Class Is in Session™: Life Is the Curriculum follows advice through choices, lived experience, understanding, wisdom, and passing it forward. Four academic years carry one continuous story.

Glo D Records is the public-facing record-label home for Gloria D. Cassell’s recorded music and musical storytelling projects. It is owned by Glo D Enterprises Holdings, LLC.
The four-album project draws on the Four Seasons of Alignment™ framework within We Are Gardens™. Here, the focus is the original music, its connected seasonal catalog, and the stories that give each year its meaning.
